Golfclub Schotten (Kurzplatz)

Golfclub Schotten (Kurzplatz) is a 9-hole short course set within the Naturpark Hoher Vogelsberg in Hesse, Germany, and managed with a genuine commitment to ecology. Unlike conventionally maintained layouts, the course works with the natural landscape rather than against it. There are no manicured greens or uniform fairways — the terrain follows its existing contours, and chemical fertilisers, herbicides, and artificial irrigation systems are all avoided. Water is supplied by tanker, a practice that supports rare plant species such as silver thistles and irises. This environmental approach has earned the club a formal conservation award. The Kurzplatz sits alongside an 18-hole competition course, together forming a two-course facility. A driving range and putting green are also available, making the club a practical option whether you are working on your game or looking to qualify for a handicap through one of the club's regular, affordable courses.
