Golf Resort Hardenberg (Niedersachsen) is an 18-hole championship course in Northeim, Lower Saxony, Germany, designed by Canadian architect David John Krause. Construction began in November 2001, with the first nine holes opening in June 2003 and the back nine completing the layout in June 2004. The course plays through a variety of natural features that serve as its main challenges: a dry biotope, a canyon reminiscent of those found in Arizona, traditional orchard meadows, and mature tree stands. The standout hole is a par-3 island green shaped after the boar's head — the heraldic symbol of the Counts of Hardenberg. A distinctive grass seed used by only a handful of clubs in Germany keeps the fairways a deep, consistent green.
