Hole 1 at Golf Club Altenhof sets the tone immediately: a short par 5 where a large old tree stands in the middle of the fairway, forcing a tactical decision off the tee. Hole 2 follows with a par 4 squeezed between a fairway bunker on the left and trees on the right, and hole 3 plays to an elevated green over a small pond and slope. The 18-hole, par-71 layout sits in Altenhof, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, routed through a hilly historic parkland studded with ancient giant trees. The course opened in 1971 and holds a Golf und Natur Silver Certificate (awarded 21 April 2021). It ranks high on lists of most beautiful golf courses in Germany. Access is semi-private.
