George Wright Golf Course

Rated 4.7 by 70+ Hole19 golfers and one of the most-played courses in Massachusetts on Hole19, George Wright Golf Course in Boston draws consistent praise from players across the state. Designed by Donald Ross and opened in 1938, the 18-hole, par-70 municipal layout features bunkers, ponds, elevated greens, tree-lined fairways, rock formations, and fescue. Hole 13 is a standout, with two ponds guarding the left side of the fairway. Hole 15 runs tight, with trees and out-of-bounds along the right from tee to green. The course has earned Golf Digest's Best Municipal Course in Massachusetts and was ranked 14th Best Municipal Golf Course in the U.S. by Golfweek in 2009. It also served as an MGA Amateur Qualifying Site that same year. A Junior Golf Daily Lessons program for beginners aged 7–14 is taught by professionals on site. The Grill at the clubhouse serves a variety of food and beverage items, and the clubhouse is available for functions throughout the season.
