Furnace Creek Resort

Furnace Creek Resort, located in California's Death Valley, sits 214 feet below sea level — making it the world's lowest elevation golf course. The 18-hole, par 70 layout offers a genuinely distinctive desert resort experience and draws many golfers as a winter getaway. Palm and tamarisk trees line the fairways, with majestic mountains visible throughout the round. Water comes into play on nine holes, and four sets of tees make the course accessible and challenging across all skill levels. In 1997, course architect Perry Dye redesigned the layout, adding subtle mounding and re-contoured greens to sharpen the challenge while preserving the course's playable character.
