Funaki Golf Club

Funaki Golf Club is an 18-hole hillside course in Ube, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan, set on a gentle rise with sweeping views over the city centers of Ube and Onoda. The layout was carved from the hilltop, which means mature trees are sparse and fairways run a generous 50 meters wide. Four ponds of varying sizes are woven throughout the design, and the course makes good use of natural valleys and water features to add challenge despite its compact character. Because overall distance is on the shorter side, precise shot-making matters more than power — accuracy off the tee and into the greens is what drives scoring here.
