Description
Excelsior Springs Golf Club opened in October 1915 with the completion of an 18-hole championship layout in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. The club briefly expanded to 36 holes in the late 1920s before the Great Depression brought it back to its original 18, which remain in play today. The course stretches 6,553 yards and plays to a par 72. It was designed by Tom Bendelow, the architect behind Medinah Country Club — host of the 1949, 1975, and 1990 U.S. Opens — and Olympia Fields Country Club, which hosted the 1928 and 2003 U.S. Opens along with two PGA Championships. Excelsior Springs Golf Club is one of the most-played courses in Missouri on Hole19.
