Cedar Pointe Golf Course

Cedar Pointe Golf Course is a distinctive 18-hole layout in Boone, Iowa, where two very different eras of golf design share the same round. The front nine dates to the early 1900s and is considered one of Iowa's oldest courses. True to its classic style, mature trees line every hole and demand accurate, shape-conscious ball-striking. With only two water hazards and seven bunkers, scoring well here comes down to a precise tee shot and a sharp short game. The back nine, built nearly a century later, opens up considerably. Younger trees offer little trouble, but the modern design compensates with more bunkers, additional water hazards, and out-of-bounds in play on many holes. The contrast between the two nines makes for a round unlike most others in the region.
