Carambola Golf Club is a par-72 layout on the northwest side of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, commissioned by Laurence Rockefeller as the centrepiece of a luxury Caribbean resort and opened in 1966. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., the course winds through a lush tropical valley and was considered by Jones himself to be among his finest work. That reputation has held — it is widely regarded as the premier course in the Virgin Islands and a must-play for serious golfers visiting the Caribbean. With 18 holes of challenging, signature Trent Jones design set against a verdant valley backdrop, Carambola Golf Club stands as one of the great treasures of American golf.
