Canterbury Golf Club

Canterbury Golf Club in Beachwood, Ohio, United States is a private, Scottish-style layout designed by Herbert Strong and opened in 1922. The course plays to par 72 over 6,431 yards. The terrain moves across a rolling layout marked by ridges and bunkering. Hole 1 is a long, dog-leg right par four with a blind tee shot over a ridge. Hole 3 is a par three with a pond in front and a well-bunkered green, the clubhouse visible in the background. Hole 4 is a long par four with a nest of fairway bunkers that bends from right to left. Canterbury has hosted the 1932 and 1937 Western Open, the U.S. Open, the PGA Championship, the U.S. Amateur Championship, the Senior U.S. Open, and the 2009 Senior PGA Championship. Golf Digest, Golf, and Golfweek magazines have each ranked it among the Top 100 courses in the United States, and it is recognized as one of Ohio's finest.
