Blainroe Golf Club

Blainroe Golf Club sits on the clifftops 3.5km south of Wicklow Town, offering sweeping views of the Irish Sea and, on clear summer days, Mount Snowdon across the water in Wales. To the west, the Wicklow Mountains frame the valley and create a micro-climate that keeps the course playable year-round. The 18-hole, Par 72 layout stretches 6,175 metres and carries the Hawtree & Son design signature, having opened in 1978. In 2005, Martin Hawtree — son of the original architect — returned to redesign the course, introducing sand-based greens, new tee boxes, and additional greenside and fairway bunkers. The result is widely regarded as one of the finest coastal parkland courses in south-east Ireland. Hole19 golfers rate it 4.7, making it a well-regarded destination for anyone exploring County Wicklow.
