Belmont Golf Course

Belmont Golf Course in Lakeside, Virginia, was designed by Hall of Fame architect A.W. Tillinghast in 1917, originally opening as Hermitage Country Club before taking its current name in 1977. In 2020, First Tee – Greater Richmond partnered with Love Golf Design to modernize the facility. The redesign drew on original drawings of the course to restore holes 7 through 18, resulting in the current 12-hole layout. The course plays between 3,020 and 4,345 yards across five sets of tees, making it accessible to golfers of all levels. The routing features two back-to-back par 5s, eight par 4s, two par 3s, and 64 bunkers spread throughout. When combined with the six Little Bell holes, players can complete an official 18-hole USGA handicap round, or post a 9-hole score after playing the 12-hole Belmont layout.
