Ashburn Golf Club (Old)

Ashburn Golf Club (Old) is one of Canada's most historic 18-hole layouts, located in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Designed by Stanley Thompson — the architect behind St. George's, Highlands Links, and the celebrated mountain courses at Banff and Jasper — it carries the unmistakable character of a golden-era design. Measured at 5,210 yards from the tips, the yardage understates the challenge. Thompson worked with the naturally rolling terrain to produce a course of varied vistas and demanding holes, where the land itself shapes the test rather than sheer length. Ashburn also operates a New Course outside Halifax, where the Web.com Tour has played and exhibition matches have featured Mike Weir, Matt Kuchar, Graham DeLaet, and Tom Watson. The Old Course, however, remains the historic heart of the club — a genuine throwback worth the trip.
