Asahi Country Club

Asahi Country Club is a hillside 18-hole course in Tsuruoka, Yamagata Prefecture, offering sweeping panoramic views of Mount Chokai and Gassan, the main peak of the Dewa Sanzan range. Fairways are broad and largely flat, giving players room to work with, while the par-5 holes are generously long and reward bold, committed play. The standout hole is the 18th, a slight downhill drive onto a fairway that tilts to the right, leading to a large pond that demands a clear head under pressure. Behind the green, the Shonai Plain stretches out through the backdrop of the clubhouse — a fitting finish to the round.
