Amsterdam Old Course

Amsterdam Old Course is an 18-hole layout in Duivendrecht, North Holland, designed by Harry Colt — one of only eight courses in the Netherlands bearing his signature. The course has undergone significant changes since it was first laid out in 1935. A major intervention came in 1984, when Dutch Railways required land for a new rail embankment and station, reducing the course to just 9 holes. A further disruption followed when the Utrechtboog — a rail viaduct connecting Schiphol to Utrecht — was routed directly through the course. Members continued playing during construction, and after the viaduct was completed in 2005, architect Frank Pont undertook a full renovation, finished in 2007. Holes 1, 2, 4 (in part), and 9 still date from the original 1935 layout. Rated 4.4 by Hole19 golfers, Amsterdam Old Course draws consistent praise from those who have played it.
