Amelia Island Plantation (Oak Marsh)

Amelia Island Plantation (Oak Marsh) is a Pete Dye-designed 18-hole layout built in 1972, following closely on the heels of his celebrated Harbour Town Golf Links in South Carolina. Set along serpentine salt marsh creeks and beneath moss-draped heritage oaks, the course presents tight fairways, small greens, and 14 holes with water hazards across 6,500 yards at par 72. Bulkheaded greens, varied bunker placement, and coquina shell cart paths give the course a distinctive character rooted in its natural surroundings. Native plant life and preserved wildlife habitats have been maintained throughout, and walking is permitted after 4:00 p.m. Oak Marsh hosted the 1991 PGA Section Championship and the 1992 Society of Seniors Championship. It has been recognized by Golf Digest among the Top 75 Resort Courses in the U.S. and by Travel & Leisure Golf as one of Florida's 50 Finest Courses.
