Description
Kelab Golf Sibu has its roots in a vision that took shape in 1967, when the Lions Club of Sibu proposed the construction of a golf course along Oya Road, at the Mile 10 location in Sibu, Sarawak, Malaysia. The club engaged J.J.F. Pennink of Cotton (C.K.) Pennink, Lawrie and Partners — a well-regarded golf course architect — to design the layout. Following his first site visit on 17th October 1968, Pennink proposed an initial 9-hole, 3,000-yard course, with a long-term plan for expansion to a full 18 holes. That vision was ultimately realised, and the course today plays across 18 holes.
