Hole 14's island green and hole 6's combination of water, rock face, and tree-lined green give Willow Valley Golf (Championship) two of the more distinctive holes in the north of England. Designed by Jonathon Gaunt and opened in 1997, the 18-hole, par-72 public layout in England, United Kingdom, incorporates water hazards, bunkers, and trees across the course. Today's Golfer ranked it 9th best new course in the British Isles on opening, and it has hosted the Yorkshire P.G.A Championship. Rated 4.4 by 100+ Hole19 golfers, it is a popular round among Hole19 golfers in England. Practice facilities include a 15-bay floodlit driving range, two putting greens, and a dedicated short game area. The Willow Valley Golf Academy provides PGA coaching staff, Trackman 4 radar launch monitors, video screencast, and CoachNow app feedback. The clubhouse has a bistro, a bar, and changing facilities that comfortably service 60+ golfers.

Matt CharltonAugust 15, 2025Quite disappointed in the course. Tee boxes were poor quality, greens were too long and slow (in spite of very dry conditions). Many penalty areas weren’t staked or marked with the correct colour stakes or paint markings. Driving range was in very poor condition, with new mats needed, lacking rubber tees and very poor quality range balls. Would be nice to have some baskets or nearby flags to aim for too. Needs investment and TLC. Finally the course etiquette was not well observed by others here, with lots of waiting for 4 balls in front and not letting a 2 with a buggy play through, players not raking bunkers and repairing divots and pitch marks.
