Description
Wethersfield Country Club is an 18-hole private course in Wethersfield, Connecticut, designed by Robert D. Pryde and opened in 1916. The layout moves across rolling hills shaded by stately trees. The club hosted the Insurance City Open/Greater Hartford Open from 1952 to 1983. The 1952 inaugural event was won by Ted Kroll, followed by Bob Toski in 1953, Tommy Bolt in 1954, Sam Snead in 1955, and Arnold Palmer in 1956. Practice facilities include a spacious driving range with a grass portion made available for practice and a putting green. The clubhouse contains a Members Grille Room, Main Dining Room, Ballroom, Mixed Grill Room, and locker rooms.
