Description
West One's Country Club is an 18-hole hillside course in Kato, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, designed by Pete Dye in an American-Scottish links style. Fairways and greens feature pronounced undulation, meaning the right line off the tee matters enormously — a well-placed shot opens up the hole, while a poor one can make scoring very difficult. Hazards are carefully crafted throughout, with railroad ties lining the bunkers in the distinctive style Pete Dye is known for. The closing stretch of holes 16, 17, and 18 plays uphill and delivers some of the most exciting and dramatic moments the course has to offer.
