Description
Waverly Oaks Golf Club (Championship) is an 18-hole, par-72 public course in Plymouth, Massachusetts, designed by Brian Silva and opened in 1998. The layout plays across rolling elevation through natural hills and valleys, with towering oak trees framing most holes and coastal winds adding variable conditions throughout the round. Sand-based soils underpin the course, and yardage stretches from 4,930 to 7,114 yards. Back-to-back par 5s give the layout a distinctive mid-round stretch. Since opening, the course has earned Golf Digest Four and a Half Stars and Best New Course (1998), a top-four ranking in New England from the New England Journal of Golf, and a spot on Golf Magazine's Top 100 Courses You Can Play list. A driving range and instruction are available on site. The clubhouse includes a golf shop staffed by professionals.

Expensive course. $95 with cart. Outstanding layout. Greens are true and challenging. Some exceedingly so because of diabolical pin placements. Golf carts were busted plastic and shabby. Driving range only so so. No beverage carts on course. Refreshments only at snack house straddling holes 7 & 14. Considering the price point, I expected things like tees, towels, water to be in the cart on the first tee. All in all an excellent track and good day out.
