Wahconah Country Club

Wahconah Country Club, designed by Wayne Stiles and opened in 1930, sits in Dalton, Massachusetts, in the eastern hills of Berkshire County. The semi-private 18-hole layout mixes open fairways with large greens against narrower, tree-lined fairways and smaller greens, giving the course a varied feel across the round. Hole 17 stands out for its mammoth cross bunker, rebuilt in 2005 and one of the more formidable hazards on the property. A practice green — doubled in size from the original — is available for warm-up. The Clubhouse Restaurant occupies a glass-enclosed space on the upper level, with views of the course and surrounding hills and patio seating. The Clubhouse Bar, also on the upper level, serves well-crafted libations.
