Vernon Golf & Country Club is a championship par 72 course in Vernon, British Columbia, playing longer than its 6,609-yard scorecard suggests. Towering Lombardi poplars and mature weeping willows frame a classic parkland layout, while the Okanagan Valley Railroad bisects the inside five holes from the rest of the course. The opening hole is a short dogleg par 4 with Vernon Creek running along the right side. The second hole tightens considerably as the creek encroaches from the left inside 150 yards, with out of bounds threatening the entire right side. Holes 3 through 15 play on the high side of the tracks before returning to the inside five and one of the strongest finishing stretches in the Okanagan. The 460-yard 16th presents out of bounds left and right, a tree positioned in the middle of the fairway, and a sidehill approach. The par 3 17th features a narrow, sloping green. The 18th demands a deliberate left-to-right tee shot to find an undulating fairway, with Vernon Creek defining out of bounds on the right and a three-tiered green protected by Pete's Pond and bunkers.
