Vårgårda Golfklubb

Vårgårda Golfklubb is an 18-hole course in Västra Götaland County, Sweden, designed by Peter Fjällman and widely known for its exceptional year-round conditioning. When the course was built, 20–30 cm of sand was laid across the entire layout, giving the fairways a firm, fast-draining turf that holds up through heavy rain and stays dry even in autumn and winter. Greens and fairways are typically in excellent shape from the very start of the season — among the earliest to open in the region — and the course often remains playable through Christmas and New Year with summer-quality greens. The layout shifts character as the round progresses, moving from parkland to links-style stretches and back, before finishing with a challenging and entertaining stretch of woodland holes. Strategic thinking and careful shot planning reward repeat visitors, and the course tends to reveal more of its character with every round played.
