University Ridge Golf Course

Hole 18 at University Ridge Golf Course sets up a fitting close: a 443-yard par 4 climbing 182 feet between woodland and prairie. Hole 16 adds further variety with 554 yards, three fairways, and 12 bunkers. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and opened in 1991, the public 18-hole layout in Madison, Wisconsin is routed across terminal moraine terrain of rolling hills and valleys, preserved prairie and marshland, and dense Wisconsin woodland, playing between 5,005 and 7,289 yards. The course has drawn consistent recognition, including #3 Top 20 College Courses and #19 Top 50 Public Golf Courses in the U.S. in the 2025 Golfer's Choice Awards/GolfPass, and #11 in Wisconsin from Golfweek Magazine in 2025. It is a popular round among Hole19 golfers in Wisconsin. The 33-acre driving range features bent and rye grass tees and greens, two 9,000 square-foot hitting areas, and colored distance flags. Instruction includes adult group lessons and PGA Junior League. The W Grill serves classic Wisconsin cooking and clubhouse staples with views over the natural terrain.
