University of Montana Golf Course

University of Montana Golf Course is Missoula's oldest course, established in 1924 and originally known as the Missoula Country Club. Set against Mount Sentinel, it occupies one of the last open spaces in the Missoula valley, about a mile south of the university's main campus. The 9-hole triple-tee layout crosses flat ground, with mature tree-lined fairways and frequent visits from deer and other wildlife. Sections of the surrounding land have been reclaimed as native prairie, adding a natural character to the round. During the off-season, the grounds serve the wider community as a space for cross-country skiing, sledding, walking, and jogging — reflecting its long-standing role as a local gathering place.
