United States Naval Academy Golf Club

United States Naval Academy Golf Club, a private 18-hole course in Maryland, United States, was designed by William S. Flynn and opened in 1940. The layout rolls across terrain marked by inlets, tidal rivers, and views of the Chesapeake Bay. Two holes stand out. Hole 8 features a long, deep bunker known as the Pit of Death. Hole 12 is a reverse Redan par 3, considered the toughest of the four par threes on the course. Practice facilities include a driving range, a chipping and putting facility positioned between the range and the back nine, and a short game area funded through donations. The Gurneé Sports Performance Center adds enclosed hitting bays, video equipment, and swing analysis technology.
