Turnberry Country Club

Turnberry Country Club, a private 18-hole course in the Village of Lakewood, Illinois, was designed by E. Lawrence Packard and opened in 1972. It plays between 6,852 and 6,900 yards to a par of 72. The layout runs through mature trees with elevation changes, bunkers, and water coming into play on 10 holes. Hole 11 plays from an elevated tee with a panoramic view, hole 3 measures 220 yards, and hole 17 stretches to 544 yards. The course has hosted the U.S. Open Qualifier, Illinois Open, Illinois State Amateur Championship, and Mid-Amateur Qualifying. It is a popular round among Hole19 golfers in Illinois. Practice facilities include a 23,000 sq. ft. bluegrass hitting area with a fairway practice bunker, a 10,000 sq. ft. putting green, and professional golf instruction. The pro shop runs approximately 1,400 square feet and is fully stocked with equipment and golf fashion. The 30,000 sq. ft. French Normandy style clubhouse includes the Griffin Room Restaurant, which serves fine dining and casual fare in a dining room and bar overlooking the course. The club also has four tennis courts and four indoor golf simulators.
