Description
Tippecanoe Country Club sits along the shores of Lake Shafer in White County, Indiana, and stands as one of the region's oldest and most respected courses. The original nine holes were laid out in 1920 by Roy Robertson, built on the banks of the Tippecanoe River before the lakes and dams were constructed. The club has been updated and expanded several times since, but the most significant change came in 1963, when a then-newcomer to golf course design arrived to complete his first project. Pete Dye designed the back nine from scratch to create a full 18-hole layout, and also redesigned the tees and greens on the front nine — marking an early milestone in what would become one of the most influential careers in the game.
