The South Staffordshire Golf Club

The South Staffordshire Golf Club, a private parkland course in Wolverhampton, England, was designed by Harry Vardon and opened in 1908. It plays to par 71 over 18 holes at 6,587 yards, with tree-lined fairways and fast, true greens. The 9th is a 457-yard hole that requires two good strikes to clear the bunkers at the front. The 17th measures 353 yards, with trees on the left and out of bounds to the right. The club has hosted a range of tournaments including the Double Diamond Home International Tournament 1971, the Carlsberg European Womens' Championship, the Senior British Ladies' Open in 2003 and 2017, and the England Golf Senior Women's Amateur Championship 2017, among others. Rated 4.5 by 50+ Hole19 golfers. Practice facilities include a private undercover six-bay driving range with grass and all-weather teeing areas, a putting green, and a chipping fringe and bunker practice area. The Peter Baker Golf Academy offers lessons in 30, 45, or one-hour sessions, with a Trackman launch monitor in the pro shop's Indoor Performance Clinic; a separate Trackman Golf Simulator studio in the clubhouse is available for lessons and recreational play. The restaurant serves formal cuisine with a variety of wines.
