The layout carries significant historical weight. Hole 1, Reid's Gate, was part of the original Mt. Hope course designed by William Henry Tucker Sr. in 1897. Hole 2, Gille's Farm, is a short par 4 that demands accuracy from tee to green. Hole 3, Red Oak, is a short par 3 guarded by a large bunker short and left of the putting surface.
