The Rookery at Marco - JW Marriott Marco Island

The Rookery at Marco - JW Marriott Marco Island is an 18-hole course in Florida, redesigned by Robert Cupp, Jr. and set among shallow wetlands that draw a wide variety of bird species — a fitting match for its name, which means bird sanctuary. Stretching more than 7,100 yards, the layout features generous fairways, oversized and receptive greens, and five teeing options to suit a range of players. Turf conditions are immaculate throughout. The course has since been renovated with new Paspalum turf grass and redesigned bunkers, work carried out by Peter Jacobsen and Jim Hardy of Jacobsen Hardy Golf Course Design. The result is an award-winning facility that balances length and playability in a natural wetland setting.
