I enjoyed my round here but it’s not without it’s faults. They’d done a great job looking after the course throughout this brutal heat, the fairways and greens were lovely. The fairways are reasonably generous but the rough is VERY rough. I think what bothered me most is that this is an American-style, long course which demands long drives and long approaches but it also has savagely deep rough, lots of water and is also very exposed to the wind. Those things can all compound together to make it quite frustrating at times. I got away with a lot of my bad shots but my playing partner had a terrible time and shot 10 over their handicap. It’s also not that pretty because it’s very man-made.
