The Heritage Golf & Country Club (Henley)

The Heritage Golf & Country Club (Henley) is an 18-hole links-style course set in Christmas Hills, Victoria, designed by Tony Cashmore in consultation with Nicklaus Design. Cross the bridge over the Yarra River and the course reveals itself across the northern half of the property. Fairways weave through oxbow meanders shaped by the river, then rise toward the Warrandyte State Forest and a knoll where the Homestead overlooks the broader landscape. The contrast with the stadium-style St John course on the same property is deliberate and striking. Despite extensive wetlands through the lower section, the fairways are carpet-like couch grass, maintained to a high standard thanks to a sand base and a meticulous upkeep regime. The course is tranquil, rich in wildlife, and framed by varied roughs that complement the condition of the fairways throughout.
