The Courses at Watters Creek (The Traditions)

The Courses at Watters Creek (The Traditions) is an 18-hole championship layout in Plano, Texas, and one of the most-played courses in Texas on Hole19, rated 4.3 by Hole19 golfers. The Traditions Course winds through woodlands of red oak, cedar elm, and pecan trees, with most holes offering up to seven tee options to suit all skill levels. Tee boxes are squared off and feature 419 Bermuda grass, as do the fairways. The greens are mini verde — a hybrid grass the same as or very similar to that used at TPC Sawgrass in Florida and Eastlake Golf Club in Georgia, both PGA Tour venues — and can be set to whatever speed the superintendent chooses. A small auxiliary putting green near the first tee gives golfers who are short on time a chance to warm up before their round. Nature shapes the experience from the opening hole, where a wide fairway narrows at a dogleg guarded by oak and pecan trees on the right — a preview of what follows throughout the round.
