Taupo Golf Club (Tauhara)

Rated one of the most-played courses in Waikato on Hole19, Taupo Golf Club (Tauhara) is a semi-private 18-hole course in Taupo, New Zealand, designed by Ernie Southerden and opened in 1928. The layout runs through volcanic parkland surroundings with thermal activity and stretches toward the shores of Lake Taupo. Yardage plays between 5,645 and 6,369 metres, and the finishing hole is noted as one of the most intimidating in the country. Practice facilities include three putting greens (flat, undulating, and sloping), two chipping greens, two practice bunkers, and PGA-certified coaching using the latest golf technology. The pro shop stocks apparel and offers equipment hire. The Taupo Golf Club Kitchen and Bar provides a comfortable dining area with an extensive, reasonably priced menu. The lounge bar is well stocked with standard and craft beers, wine, and spirits, and spacious outdoor decking looks out over the course.
