Tamatsukuri Golf Club Wakaumi

Tamatsukuri Golf Club Wakaumi is an 18-hole hillside course in Namegata, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, designed around gentle undulations and water hazards placed throughout the layout. The front nine features shorter par-4s where a solid tee shot leaves little more than a short iron into the green. The back nine raises the stakes, with water coming into play on five holes. At the par-3 14th, a pond sits around the 200-metre mark, forcing a decision on whether to lay up short. The 18th presents a different challenge: a pond runs along the right side of the fairway, and the second shot must carry the water to reach the green. The course operates on a self-service basis, with an open-kitchen cafeteria style and a drink bar available to players throughout the round.
