Swansea Country Club ranks as one of the most-played courses in Massachusetts on Hole19, a sign of how consistently it draws golfers across the region. Designed by Geoffrey Cornish and opened in 1963, this public 18-hole layout in Swansea, Massachusetts plays to par 72 across a yardage range of 5,200 to nearly 7,000 yards. The course moves through tree-lined fairways, forest, and alongside the Palmer River, with a freshwater pond and saltwater marsh adding variety to the routing. Providence Business News has recognized it as the most popular public golf facility in the area. Practice options are extensive: a 10,000-square-foot teeing area with 13 commercial mats and new netting, a full putting green, a chipping green and bunker complex, and instruction through the Ocean State Golf Academy led by owner Russell Johnson and staff. The pro shop provides full golf shop services. An outdoor pavilion accommodates 25 to 250 participants, and a Pool Club with three saltwater gunite pools, a lap pool with slides, a splash pad, and a Tiki Bar rounds out the property.
