St Andrews Links (Craigtoun) is St Andrews' only championship inland course, set on the historic Mount Melville estate and opened in 1995. Peter Thomson, a five-time Open Champion, designed the original layout, which was later refined in 2006 by architect Tim Liddy. The result is a strategic heathland course with sweeping views over St Andrews and the coastline. It blends Scottish heritage with modern design principles and has hosted major amateur championships.
