Pro V1 KenobiJuly 26, 2025How anyone could give this a genuine 5 star review is beyond me. No one expects this course to be as well maintained as a members club but it’s really not in good nick currently, which considering we’re in peak golf season is a little more than disappointing. With a substantial increase in green fees and reports of money being spent on the course I had high hopes that it had improved…if anything it’s actually worse. The “greens” are not cut properly, diseased and really really poor. Imagine setting your lawn mower the lowest setting and mowing your back garden…you wouldn’t call that a putting green but that’s probably comparable to what you will experience in places. Weeds like bushes growing in the green side bunkers are a clear sign this course has taken a downturn. Wooden steps up to tee boxes have rotten and not been replaced. Tee boxes have grass comparable to the second cut at most courses, fairways are like hitting out the first cut, it’s an utter disgrace currently. I’ve never seen this before in all the years it’s been open. For £35 on a Saturday there are a plethora of other pay and play courses locally you could play with a better standard overall. If you’ve ever played golf on an actual golf course you will come away feeling a little more than short changed. Play here as an absolute last resort.

I’m sorry but that is not a £35 golf course. Only recently I used to pay £12/13 or £16/17 depending on when you came. I think you are now paying for what the course is going to be like so effectively funding the work before it’s done. The course hasn’t changed one bit apart the shop is now attended. It’s a great little pay and play course for £15-£20 max but that’s it. Still really rough in parts and no bins or ball cleaners.

Nic HolmesOctober 17, 2024It’s cheap so as long as you expect poor maintenance, especially the greens, and rude staff then you won’t be disappointed. A nice location which just needs some care and love.
