Southern Yards Country Club

Southern Yards Country Club is an 18-hole course in Shirosato, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, designed to make full use of the natural terrain and mature trees. The layout is relatively flat, but ponds and bunkers are placed throughout the fairways with real strategic intent, making tee-shot placement a key factor in scoring. With 91 bunkers spread across the course and generous overall yardage, accuracy is rewarded at every turn. The greens are large and approachable, but their subtle undulations make distance control a consistent challenge. A notable feature is the suspension bridge connecting holes 16 and 17 — the first of its suspended-deck type in Japan, built with a cable structure that remains hidden from view.
