South Hills Country Club

South Hills Country Club is a private 18-hole course in West Covina, California, designed by William P. Bell and opened in 1952. Rolling terrain, tree-lined fairways, bunker-lined corridors, and sloping putting surfaces define the layout throughout. Several holes add specific character: the par-5 6th plays around a lake guarding the fairway, hole 9 is the number-one handicapped hole with a narrow dogleg left, and the par-3 10th has a water feature short and left of the green. The club hosted USGA Qualifiers from 2004 to 2013. One-on-one instruction and club fittings are available on site. The pro shop carries the latest golf apparel and equipment from top brands. The Santa Barbara Mission-style clubhouse, opened in 2000, includes elegant dining areas, splendid outdoor terraces, and more than 9,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space across two ballrooms and an Event Lawn with panoramic mountain views. The club earned a 2012 Award of Distinction from the Club Managers Association of America's International Wine Society with a score of 96/100.
