Somerby Golf Club

Somerby Golf Club, set among gently rolling hills in Byron, Minnesota, was designed by John Fought and Tom Lehman to evoke the spirit of golf's Golden Age. The 18-hole championship course plays from 5,160 to 7,209 yards, offering generous fairways across a landscape shaped by thick stands of trees, meandering creeks, and grassy marshlands. Wetland areas, shimmering ponds, lakes, and fescue-covered hillocks have been woven directly into the layout, preserving the natural environment while adding strategic depth. The course presents a range of shot options to reach each green safely, making it accessible for newer golfers while still posing a genuine challenge through carefully placed hazards for more accomplished players. Though the slope and course ratings may look demanding at first glance, the design remains fair throughout.
