Sleepy Hole Golf Course in Suffolk, Virginia, is a popular round among Hole19 golfers in Virginia, and the facts behind that reputation are easy to trace. Designed by Russell Breeden and opened in 1973, this public 18-hole layout plays between 4,990 and 7,007 yards along the shores of the Nansemond River. Tree-lined fairways, well-placed bunkers, and elevated greens define the layout. Hole 18 has been voted many times as the toughest finishing hole in Tidewater. The course has hosted the LPGA Crestar Classic, the Amateur Championship, and VSGA point rankings events. Practice facilities include a full-length driving range, putting green, and chipping and putting areas, with lessons available from certified professionals. The Bar & Grill is open daily and serves full breakfast and lunch, with a fully stocked bar overlooking the 18th green and Nansemond River.
