Description
Shennecossett Golf Course has hosted the Connecticut Senior Open on a Donald Ross layout that opened in 1898, making it one of the older public courses in the region. The 18-hole, par-72 design in Groton, Connecticut, includes water hazards and elevated greens, with holes 16 and 17 offering sweeping views of the Thames River and Long Island Sound. The course has earned Best Golf Course in The Day's readers choice awards from 2021 through 2025, and was recognized in Golf Magazine's Thrifty Fifty and Best of Northeast Golf Reader's Choices in 2007. It is a popular round among Hole19 golfers in Connecticut. A driving range and practice putting green are available, both reserved for Season Pass Holders and golfers who paid for a round. A pro shop is on site and handles season pass inquiries.

Michael MiniSeptember 06, 2020Ok course, lovely setting, pretty good conditions, like a shooting gallery on several holes (tight quarters), but a couple holes right along water which was pretty. Fairly easy to walk. Not bad.
