Description
Shan Shui Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole championship course set against a mountainous backdrop in Tawau, Sabah, Malaysia, about 15 kilometres from town. Designed by Nelson & Haworth — who considered it their finest work in Asia — the course opened in 1998 and has earned a strong reputation for its undulating terrain and dense tropical surroundings. Hole 15, known as "The Creek," was recognised by US Golf Magazine as one of the Best 500 Holes and Top 250 par 4s in the world. The course's natural landscape also serves as habitat for exotic birds, monkeys, squirrels, and a resident crocodile. Rated 4.6 by Hole19 golfers, with over 100 reviews, it is one of the more celebrated layouts in the region.
