Shale Creek Golf Club is a popular round among Hole19 golfers in Ohio, set on land that was the Gunkelman Farm for over a century in York Township, with easy access from I-71 for golfers coming from Cleveland, Akron, Medina, and the surrounding areas. The 18-hole course is built on rolling terrain crossed by small streams that wind through the property and flow into the Rocky River. Bent grass covers the greens, tees, and fairways, and five sets of tees on each hole make the layout accessible to all skill levels. Strategic bunkers and several distinct natural areas add variety throughout the round. Holes one through eight play across open, naturally rolling ground with small streams in play. Holes ten through fifteen bring the Rocky River and wetlands directly into the equation, giving that stretch its own character. The closing holes shift to more traditional Ohio terrain — wooded and rolling, with lakes and streams to navigate.
