Sawmill Golf Course

Sawmill Golf Course is a semi-private 18-hole layout in Pelham, Ontario, Canada, designed by Gord Witteveen and Nicol Thompson and opened in 1976. The course plays through deciduous forests, past tranquil ponds and meandering creeks, across gently rolling hills. Ontario Golf News has ranked it among the Best Courses Under $65 in Ontario, and it has been a fully certified member of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System of Canada since 2002. Practice facilities are extensive. The driving range runs over 300 yards long and 200 yards wide, with two large hitting tees for 25 or more players and seven bent-grass target greens. A 7,000-square-foot bentgrass putting green is laid out as a nine-hole putting course with contoured surfaces maintained to championship conditions. A separate lesson tee offers both grass and artificial turf alongside multiple short-game targets. The clubhouse, originally designed and built by Carl Schwenker, underwent a major renovation in 2009/10 and provides panoramic views of the course. A Pro Shop is reachable at 905-562-4041.
