Sawmill Creek Golf Club

Sawmill Creek Golf Club opened in 1974 in the lakefront village of Huron, Ohio, and was only the fourth course Tom Fazio had designed at that time. The 18-hole layout measures 6,700 yards and plays to a par of 71. The course is bordered by Sheldon's Marsh to the west, Lake Erie to the north, and Sawmill Creek to the east, giving the lushly landscaped layout a distinct sense of place. That natural framing also brings real challenge, with water and terrain in play throughout. Sawmill Creek is widely regarded as having some of the best greens in Ohio. The putting surfaces are fast, large, and heavily contoured, making par a solid result for golfers at any level. The par 3s are a particular test — the 195-yard seventh is the toughest of a notably demanding set.
