Sandpiper Golf Club

Sandpiper Golf Club in Sun City Center, Florida, is a 27-hole facility made up of three nine-hole courses: the Oaks, the Palms, and the Lakes. The original 18-hole layout opened in 1968, designed by Mark Mahanna. Ron Garl added the third nine in 1985. Each nine plays to par 36, with four tee options ranging from 2,717 to 3,258 yards. The Palms, the oldest of the three nines, is characterized by small, mostly elevated greens. The Lakes offers a winding, hilly routing that dips into a valley and back out, making it the most demanding off the tee — golfers need to shape shots and find fairways. Its greens are the largest of the three, though that adds its own challenge. The Oaks is generally considered the most approachable, with green sites that feature narrow front openings well suited to bump-and-run approaches.
